Comet Nangae
Comet Nangae had fallen.
Burying itself beneath the sea.
The waves crashed skyward as debris took flight.
A god howls as the earth shakes.
Shrieking over the rumbling chaos.
For the souls of her people.
As the stars butcher them.
From the plume of death, a woman’s figure paints the sky.
Spectral, she writhes.
Drowning in the open air.
Until finally, she chokes.
Her eyes dim.
And she falls back to earth…
The crash of her landing is buttressed,
By the gasp she lets out…
As life returns to her.
The Fall of Comet Nangae. The Beginning.
The Starsong first struck Nangae.
Little is known of why, as little as anything known before the comets impact.
The wants and wishes of its subjects faded as they clung, barely, to life.
Each country shed its history, in honour of this great, shared wound. And deigned, evermore, to defy the natural world.

The comet itself was named after the country it desecrated.
And the Miracle that saved it.
